I have so many passions and obsessions but travelling is probably on the top of the list.
This has started since my younger days. Thanks to my parents, I had the opportunity to travel on road trip from my home in Johor Bahru at the South of Peninsular Malaysia to my mom’s home town at the northern most of the peninsular.
Sometimes, my parents would plan and travel by car to few places. By the time I was 18, I had travelled to all states in Malaysia. I was a nerd because every time we travelled far, I would bring the atlas book and mark the current locations. I was always amused by the scenery, geomorphology and the road cut formations. How funny and a weird boy I was. I am probably still that weird boy.
I remember when I was 11, my dad drove hundreds of miles to the east coast states. I definitely had so much fun. Today, I learn that road trip could be tough especially if you have handful of people in the car. (I am referring to me and my younger brother).
Besides travelling for school holidays, as we got older, my sisters and brother moved to other places to continue their studies. All of them moved to places far away from home. So, we travelled hundreds of miles to the school and universities. The most memorable one would be the journey to my sister’s university. My little brother threw up in the car and it was not a pleasant journey.
When it was my turn to move to Kuala Lumpur, who knew that it would be the starting point of an amazing journey and I would become an explorer in this world.
Since I was 16 years old, I had lived independently starting from Kuala Lumpur to Lembah Beringin (near Tg Malim) and the major milestone was United States of America. I spent 4 years to complete Undergrad in Geology in Arizona.
As long as I live, I will not give up exploring. And today, I have discovered a platform like WordPress to share with world about my journey. I am definitely inspired by the fellow travellers who share their travel stories. I believe that I am obliged to also innspire others to pack your bag and start your own journey.
